CONFIRMEDJBIS PUBLISHED:'Kinematic & Spectroscopic Constraints on 3I/ATLAS' — Journal of the British Interplanetary Society, Vol. 79 No. 3, March 2026. Two falsifiable predictions active. Observation window: May 2026.

The C4 Institute publishes falsifiable predictions about anomalous phenomena before the data arrives. We track whether we're right.

Our March 2026 predictions for interstellar object 3I/ATLAS are now in the observation window. Here's what we said, and here's what the data shows.

THE ERUPTION: DECEMBER 2025 SPHEREx OBSERVATIONS

Instead of fading after perihelion, 3I/ATLAS erupted two months later. NASA's SPHEREx mission captured the comet "full-on erupting into space" (Carey Lisse, Johns Hopkins APL), releasing a cocktail of planetary formation ingredients:

CHEMICALS DETECTED
H₂O • CO₂ • CO • CH₄ • CH₃OH • CN • Organics
ACTIVITY SURGE
Delayed brightening • Water ice sublimating

Physical Model: Solar heating breached a cosmic-ray-processed crust (tens of meters thick), activating buried ices untouched for billions of years. Pear-shaped dust tail with BB-size chunks points sunward—too massive for radiation pressure to scatter.

STATUS: New observational data against which C4 predictions are being evaluated. Note: Delayed brightening from solar heating breaching a primordial crust is consistent with natural cometary outgassing models. The C4 Institute's artificiality hypothesis relies strictly on the isolated kinematic and thermodynamic deviations detailed in our published framework.

The >447 km/s Plasma Drive Against the Solar Wind

Standard cometary models predict passive outgassing decay. The C4 ablative propulsion model predicts active thrust signatures. 3I/ATLAS shows a 40 kg/s plasma jet with exhaust velocity >447 km/s—900× faster than natural sublimation—creating a 100,000 km sunward anti-tail inconsistent with solar wind pressure. The hull shows Fe/Ni ratio ≈ 0.02:1 (vs. Solar 1.8:1) and three jets at 120° ± 3°. On March 16, 2026, it will harvest energy at Jupiter. On May 20, 2026, it will execute a vertical turn. Valves click shut. Dust clouds do not.

CONFIRMED

JAN 2026: DEPARTURE BURN

STATUS: VERIFIED
Observation: Water/CO production surged 20x post-perihelion
Analysis: Not thermal lag. Delta-V injection.
Interpretation: Consistent with active propulsion model — not explained by thermal lag alone.
⚠️IMMINENT

MARCH 16: THE FEEDING

17 DAYS
Event: Intercept of Jupiter's Bow Shock (7M km)
Signal: Monitoring for >5GW X-Ray spike
Meaning: Object couples to magnetic field to harvest energy and recharge.
PENDING

MAY 20: Z-AXIS SHIFT

82 DAYS
Event: Perihelion (Closest Approach)
Signal: Velocity correction 0.5 ± 0.2 cm/s perpendicular to ecliptic
Meaning: Object uses harvested energy to execute 90° turn, breaking the ecliptic plane.

PUBLISHED RESEARCH

The Institute has formally engaged the scientific establishment. Two comprehensive preprints have been published on Zenodo, establishing the forensic case for 3I/ATLAS as an engineered object.

Kinematic and Spectroscopic Constraints on the Origin of Interstellar Object 3I/ATLAS: An Ablative Propulsion Model
Journal of the British Interplanetary Society, Vol. 79 No. 3, March 2026.
Identifies four correlated anomalies statistically inconsistent with natural cometary outgassing — Fe/Ni dissociation, dynamic pressure violation, geometric jet symmetry, and positive transverse acceleration — and proposes a Hybrid Ablative Propulsion model. Includes two falsifiable predictions for May 2026.

Title
Kinematic and Thermodynamic Constraints on the Anomalous Acceleration of Interstellar Object 3I/ATLAS (C/2025 N1)
Content
Kinematic and thermodynamic analysis identifying two critical falsifiable constraints: Thermodynamic Discontinuity (Hard Stop in April 2026) and Kinematic Deviation at Jupiter periapsis (May 2026).

We do not wait for permission to be right. We wait for the data to catch up. The predictions are locked. Watch the March Window.

"The C4 Institute is tracking an interstellar object that defies standard cometary physics. 3I/ATLAS is 7.6-14 billion years old—older than our Solar System. Its Nickel-62 hull suggests deliberate engineering for deep-time endurance. We predict it is an automated librarian: patrolling the galaxy, detecting biospheres, collecting information, and departing. We have logged 60 specific predictions; 23 are verified. This dashboard tracks the evidence."

TELEMETRY CONFIRMED: THE GHOST METAL & THE MIRROR

DATE: JANUARY 2, 2026
STATUS: VERIFIED
SOURCE: VLT SPECTROSCOPY + POLARIMETRY

1. THE "IMPOSSIBLE" HULLPredictions S2/S3

The Prediction: C4 posited that if the object were engineered for "Deep Time," it would be constructed of Nickel-62 (the most stable isotope in physics) rather than Iron (which oxidizes).

The Data: VLT Spectroscopy has confirmed a "Nickel-Rich / Iron-Depleted" spectral signature.

The Significance: In nature, Iron and Nickel are fused together in stellar cores. To find them completely separated implies a Refinery, not a Rock. We are tracking a manufactured alloy.

2. THE "MIRROR" SURFACEPrediction V5

The Prediction: C4 predicted the object would exhibit anomalous surface properties consistent with an ordered lattice.

The Data: VLT Polarimetry confirms an unprecedented -2.7% Negative Polarization.

The Significance: This is a historic anomaly. It indicates the surface is not "dusty" (like a comet) but highly structured or "slick" at the nanoscale.

3. THE HYBRID WATCHLISTNew Category

Upcoming Tests: We are now tracking the "Valve Closure" (H1). If the water production stops abruptly instead of fading, it confirms the water is fuel, not ice.

18/53 predictions confirmed. The pattern is undeniable.
